THE CAFFREY HOUSE
A waterfront Victorian inn on Shinnecock Bay In the village of East Quogue, Long Island, in the beginning of the Hamptons, a short trip from New York City. This hotel is for sale! I have been here for 26 years, time to move on. Call Robert Van Dyke for details. 888 239 8649 Situated on
high ground overlooking Shinnecock Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, the Caffrey House
offers a spectacular panoramic view, unsurpassed on Long Island. We are
conveniently located in the famous Hamptons resort area, between Southampton and
Westhampton. A barrier beach one
mile to the south separates the ocean from the bay, and allows the house to be
swept by cool sea breezes all summer. Even in July and August the evenings are
comfortable. Those who appreciate fine architectural details, will recognize the
high standards and good taste of the nineteenth century craftsmen who built the
hotel. Varnished elaborate woodwork and hardwood floors are featured throughout
the building. All rooms are corner locations, providing windows on two sides for
excellent ventilation and splendid views. Furnishings are antiques typical of
turn of the century homes. It is the only surviving waterfront Victorian inn on
eastern Long Island, the others have been destroyed or remodeled beyond
recognition. The inn has been kept
much the same as it was in the past, a casual comfortable country lodging.
Minimum charges: Weekends, two times the nightly rate. Holidays, three times the nightly rate. Cancellation requires 7 days notice. The
two rooms with private bath have a distant view of the water, rooms with bath in
the hall have good to excellent direct water views. A deposit of the rate for one night is required. Balance on arrival paid in cash, travelers’ checks or money order. No credit cards. Midweek
special; Stay four nights and the fifth night is free, ( Sunday through Thursday
nights ).
